What is your role at Xtravirt?
My role is split between working with large clients to assist them design and deploying cloud environments and engaging with new potential partner companies to the business that align with our culture and mission.
What was your first job?
Technical design consultant for a roofing company. Designing large metal & glass roofs and liaising with suppliers and partners to build commercial models.
What attracted you to Xtravirt?
The people and the reputation. Xtravirt have a pedigree of punching above our weight with some of the biggest systems integrators around.
What makes Xtravirt great?
The desire and passion of our technical team to take on new technologies and run with them which keeps us as the leading edge of the cloud industry. This is one of the main reasons my clients keep coming back to us to deliver more and more projects.
I always try to take a ‘coach’ style. I try and keep any meetings or projects I work on very flat ensuring that everyone has an equal voice and that the best person for a job/task come to the fore.
What industries would you say you know well?
I worked for a decade in the finance industry and have a deep knowledge of the mortgage markets as well as insurance markets. More recently I have worked with many SI’s and MSP’ and have built a good understanding of their challenges and GTM strategies and how cloud, agile and DevOps can assist them.
Functional or technical skills
15 years’ experience building sales strategies and processes, keeping strategies Lean in order to maximise revenues from client engagements. I also have 2 masters in business and organisational management. Also a diploma in DevOps and some Financial Services qualifications.
What’s your favorite part of your job?
Getting to work with large SI’s and MSP’s to see how they operate and bring together hundreds of people to deliver services to a multitude of enterprise clients.

Vauxhall Astra (although I had a Yamaha DT50 before!).
Charities, causes, or institutions I support
Many! I have worked as a business consultant for Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation and spent 3 years on the board of Mencap. In 2016 I completed a 12 in 12 race season raising money for Cancer Research UK, Wallace & Gromit Grand Appeal, Battersea Dogs Home and Soi Dog.
Avid Skier and hiker. I also play a lot of football and cricket. I have a dog and the pair of us like to be outside as much as possible, including a number of non-stop 100k hikes.
